Making Money Online Rocks
Sometimes I forget how awesome earning money online is.
After not working on my blogs or online business much in the past couple of months it’s easy to forget the awesome power of creating something from nothing that then earns you money. (To be fair the last couple of months were busy with moving twice, roadtripping across the country, getting engaged, moving to New Zealand…. I’ve been busy!) But I’ve made several hundred dollars this week for doing nothing other than have a sale on one of my products, and this has brought back the awesome feelings that accompany making money on the internet.
Let’s just say, it feels good.
Now that I’m in New Zealand and mostly settled in I’m starting to consider whether or not I want to look for work. My visa limits me to temporary and/or part-time work. The kinds of jobs I could find that fit that description might not be worth as much as me working harder to create more products and more online revenue streams. The “need to find a job” may just be distracting me from the fact that if I wanted to I could focus on generating more income online to the point that it exceeds anything I could make with a part-time job here in New Zealand.
Like I said earlier, I haven’t been focusing on my online stuff much over the last few months. Real life endeavors were too amazing and deserved more attention than work. But now that I’m in a new place with plenty of freedom and time I’m considered my next step. I know truthfully my answer is to continue working on building the online income. I love working for myself. I love calling the shots. I love creating useful products that help other people. I love making something that continues to earn me money long after I’ve stopped working on it. I love everything about creating an online income other than the fact that it is variable and hard to explain to other people.
Earning money online instead of having a traditional job has enabled me to do a lot of really awesome things. I’ve traveled all over the country and moved abroad. I’ve dabbled in many different areas: product creation, blog design, copywriting. I love that I can do many different things online that allow me to be freer with my time and location.
I’m grateful for the reminder this week that I should continue pursuing this. I’m becoming more and more comfortable with considering my online adventures a business endeavor. The IRS considers me as such so I might as well come to terms with the fact that I am and just relish the awesomeness of earning money online.

You may find that having a part-time/temporary job will be useful in helping you to settle in, meet more people and make more friends. Just a thought :)
That is actually the only reason why I would get a job here. But I’m not sure where I would want to work. At the very least I’m volunteering at a school where my fiance and his mom work. ;)
Yeah, I having have lived overseas that it was not until I started a few part time jobs that I truly felt part of a sense of community and even more of an experience of truly EXPERIENCING that new country.
I highly recommend beginning the process of searching for a part time job.You can still do as much work as you want online as well.
I hope you find a nice little pt job.Makes a big difference to get out of the house more often, whatever country we live.(I too am self employed and have found I am more happy having an outside place to work rather than spending the majority of my time in a house. It also forces me to be a bit more motivated in scheduling in exercise, packing healthy snacks/lunch etc.Otherwise I tend to sleep in or put off things till later, when I often don’t do them!
Very excited to read about your life over there! All the best whatever you decide!!
PS I was always told that bagels are very high in calories and not much nutrition and to steer clear of them but notice you often eat them for brekky. What are your thoughts?(I have been told to eat half only, but I have little self control in that regard so just keep ‘em out of the house ;)
Thanks for the comment! I agree with the part time job and getting out of the house and I am going to look for something as well as continue to work on my online endeavors. :)
Regarding bagels, they are basically just bread. They do tend to have more calories in them, but I think that if it’s part of a well balanced diet – you aren’t just eating bagels but pairing them with protein then it’s okay. I do enjoy bagels and find I still lose weight/feel healthy incorporating them into my diet. I do try to eat just half at once though, because a whole bagel plus something else tend to be too much food. My advice is to not avoid any food just because its “high in calories” but to see how you can incorporate it into your diet by pairing it with other foods and options like lower calories items.
i love your casual, sensible, not over-the-top approach to the nutrition of weight-loss. rock on!
